WELL at scale overview

  • Updated
  • Applying WELL at scale allows your organization to measure and improve organizational health performance and its impact across all locations.

Human health is material to an organization’s bottom line, and the application of WELL at scale makes that connection clear. By applying WELL at scale, organizations can measure and improve their health performance across multiple locations. Using our robust set of WELL features and our proven process, organizations can map, measure and quantify their health and well-being efforts. With this data, they can measure their impact on people, while also comparing their progress internally and against industry peers.

There are two ways that organizations can apply WELL at scale. The most impactful way is by subscribing as an entire organization (legal entity) in an enterprise-level commitment. Organizations also have the option to enroll a specific portfolio of properties that does not comprise the entire legal entity. Both options require a minimum of 5 locations.

Enterprise-committed clients will receive a WELL Score™ for their organization. The WELL Score is an aggregated calculation of the points your locations have achieved, as well as benchmarking data comparing your achievements to those of your peers. The WELL Score can help you demonstrate leadership in ESG and sustainability reporting.WAS portfolio enterprise comparison.png

Non-enterprise clients who have enrolled all of their properties in a given country or of a specific typology (e.g., all of their offices) will have access to their aggregated locations’ points calculation and benchmarking comparisons to peer groups, when available. See the table below for more information about the differences between the two subscription levels.

Applying WELL at scale is a cost-effective approach to using WELL. Rather than focusing on one building at a time, it allows project teams to have an efficient and impactful organizational approach to health.

When you commit to applying WELL at scale, you also receive:

    • Two WELL Reports per year

    • Elevated technical coaching support

    • A robust project management platform

    • Detailed performance analytics

    • Unlimited recognition awards for the subscribed locations (such as WELL Ratings, WELL Precertification or WELL Certification)

Owner organizations in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan with subscribed locations pursuing optional services including Certification, precertification and/or recertification will be subject to additional fees. If at least two years of subscription fees have already been paid by the organization, discounted fees may apply.

Organizations committed to WELL at scale also receive complementary IWBI membership depending on the level of their commitment: enterprise-committed clients receive a Keystone membership, while non-enterprise clients will receive a Cornerstone membership. WELL at Scale vs Ratings & Certification Comparison

  • WELL is for any organization looking to standardize and measure their health and well-being efforts.

WELL can be applied at scale across all sectors and geographies for both existing and new construction projects. Applying WELL at scale offers flexibility to meet any organization’s needs.

From five locations or more, applying WELL at scale helps companies implement and measure best practices for health and well-being across multiple properties in an efficient and cost-effective way.

From school districts to global corporations and anything in between, WELL is built for anyone and any organization. The world’s best employers, the world’s most innovative schools and the world’s leading real estate firms all see value in prioritizing the health of their people, and WELL is the tool they count on to achieve it.

  • From subscription to celebration, WELL provides a proven process to guide your organization’s long-term commitment to improving health.

The process of applying WELL at scale is flexible to accommodate varying goals and priorities, but is based on the principle that implementation occurs over time and that your organization's impact will scale as you grow. Our team of experts will help to personalize your path, but we have provided a sample of what you may expect to achieve over time while subscribed to WELL at scale.

    Resources

  • Applying WELL at scale is the most efficient way to standardize and improve well-being efforts in multiple locations at once — but there’s more to it than that.

WELL provides a framework to measure and improve organizational health performance.  Applying WELL at scale makes the process of achieving WELL repeatable and easily scalable for multiple locations.

Rather than focusing on your organization’s health efforts piece by piece, by applying WELL at scale you create a unified vision for well-being for as many locations as you want. It ensures consistency, inclusiveness and standardization, while also creating a WELL Score™ (for eligible subscriptions) that helps you measure and showcase the difference you’re making to your people.

Applying WELL at scale is essential because it is:

    • Efficient: Improve multiple locations at once, rather than a building at a time.

    • Inclusive: Promote health for all, not just in new buildings or flagship locations.

    • Powerful: Increase the impact of health promotion efforts with a dynamic strategy.

    • Agile: Embrace health and well-being as an iterative process, rather than a single moment in time.

WELL is your organization’s answer to the biggest question of our time — how are you addressing the health of your people?

  • Subscribing is simple — and it all happens within your WELL account.

An organization that pursues WELL across an entire legal entity or multiple legal entities will receive an Enterprise-level subscription. An organization with at least 5 properties that do not comprise an entire legal entity participates at the Portfolio level.

If you select 'All locations within a single legal entity or multiple legal entities', you must then list all legal entities included in your subscription. Enter the names of the legal entities exactly as you want them to appear on all future WELL Scores, reports, leaderboards, etc.

If all locations within the legal entity are part of your subscription, check the corresponding box below. Click '+ Add more' to add additional legal entities as needed.

If you participate at the Portfolio level, your account name should be different from your organization name and make it clear that this is a subset of your total locations by specifying a region, sector, typology, etc, that defines the subset.

    • For example, IWBI North America or IWBI Office Properties instead of simply IWBI.

    Enterprise subscriptions

    • This subscription is for organizations that are applying WELL across an entire legal entity. This is the most impactful and economical way to pursue WELL, with lower pricing per location. Enterprise-level subscriptions will receive a WELL Score™–a metric that reflects an organization-wide achievement on health, human capital support and well-being. Organizations that make an enterprise-level commitment will also receive an IWBI Keystone membership and robust benchmarking and analytics.

    Portfolio subscriptions

    • This subscription is available for organizations enrolling a minimum of 5 properties that do not comprise an entire legal entity. To increase the ability of organizations to pursue WELL at scale, portfolio definition rules no longer apply; organizations can subscribe any set of properties.
