How to use the interiors and base buildings alignment tool

This video will teach you about the Interiors and Base Buildings Alignment Tool, which outlines the features achieved by a WELL Core project (“base building”) that can be used by an interiors project located in the same building.

The Interiors and Base Buildings Alignment Tool can only be used once the base building is Certified.

Download the tools

  • To sumbit the Interiors + Base Buildings tool:

    1. Open your WELL at scale scorecard.
    2. Click the feature you’d like to apply the Interiors + Base Buildings tool to.
    3. Go to the “Verification” tab.
    4. Click the “Edit options” button.
    5. Scroll down to the Alternatives section and click to expand it.
    6. Click the Add button next to Crosswalk.Add crosswalk.png
    7. Close the “Edit options” window.
    8. Click the Assign Locations button and assign the crosswalk to the interiors location that will be using the tool.Assign locations - alternative strategy.png
    9. A task will be created for Alternative Strategy - Crosswalk. When you are ready to upload your documentation, click the Upload button. All required documentation should be uploaded as a single document (e.g., as a PDF). The document should include:
      • The final WELL Report demonstrating proof of WELL Core Certification for the base building
      • List of features achieved by the base building that are being pursued by the interiors project.
        • If pursuing certification in parallel, projects must indicate any features which are pending achievement by the base building.
      • Additional documentation as defined in the Interiors + Base Buildings tool.Upload alternative strategy.png
