This article contains instructions for upgrading to a new version of WELL before achieving Certification. If you would like to upgrade your Certified project to a newer version as part of your recertification, see Complete recertification for your project.

Early adopters of WELL may have pursued the initial WELL v1 version or the v2 pilot that was released prior to our latest WELL v2 version. Projects are not required to upgrade until their second recertification date (6 years from award date), but many choose to so they can access the latest strategies and scoring.

Before you upgrade, download a copy of your scorecard so you can refer back to your current selections, comments, notes.

To upgrade your project to a newer version of WELL:

  1. Open your project account
  2. Go to the Overview tab
  3. Click Upgrade Project to WELL v2
  4. Read the information on the pop-up and click "Yes, I'd like to upgrade my project" if you agree.
