  • In this stage, a consultant helps identify key internal stakeholders and sets up a process for collaboration. They will also help the company identify their goals and explain requirements.

A WELL consultant may support their team in the following ways:

  • Prior to a rating, certification or score, project teams must submit documentation to demonstrate how they are meeting feature requirements. In this stage, a consultant confirms that each pursued feature meets requirements.

A WELL consultant may support their team in the following ways:

  • In the last stage, a consultant works through the final review, helps put plans in place for ongoing data collection and renewal and supports marketing and promotion.

A WELL consultant may support their team in the following ways:

    • Review the final WELL report prepared by the WELL reviewer
    • Coordinate annual submissions to IWBI and annual reports for stakeholders
    • Review the dashboard and how to monitor and evaluate the impact of WELL
    • Review relevant ESG, CSR or Sustainability Reporting
    • Plan ahead for renewal (annual for HSR and WELL at scale, every three years for WELL v2)
    • Update the project profile in the project directory - a project admin can upload a project description, answer project questions and add photos in WELL Online; they must mark the project as “public” for IWBI to feature.
    • Discuss highlighting the project through tours, an online profile, conferences, educational sessions or other venues
    • Celebrate the project achievement with Marketing. Each project will have access to seals and plaques, as well as additional marketing materials under the promotions tab in their WELL Account.
      • Award Guides
      • v2 Welcome to WELL Toolkit: See the Promotions tab within a registered WELL project account
  • Submitting annual reports and undergoing renewal is integral to maintaining WELL Certification and the WELL Health-Safety Rating.

A WELL consultant may support their team in the following ways:

    • Lead Renewal/Recertification assessment:
      • WELL Certification: help clients identify the version (initial certification version or the newest version) and the certification level (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) the project will complete recertification under.
      • Document changes made within the project boundary between the time of initial certification and recertification using the renewal scorecard in WELL Online for the WELL Health-Safety Rating and the Recertification Tools for WELL Certification.
      • Work with the client to determine whether the project team should remove any features or pursue additional features at the time of renewal.
      • Discuss recertification costs:
      • WELL at scale: Review the various possible scenarios for WELL at scale milestone renewals to confirm which ones apply in your case
    • Enroll the project for recertification/renewal.
      • WELL Certification: registering the project for recertification on WELL Online will extend the validity of the project for 12 months during which time the project must satisfactorily complete the recertification process.
      • WELL Health-Safety Rating: Enrolling the project for renewal on WELL Online extends the validity of your project’s original rating for three months, during which time you must successfully complete the renewal process.
    • Check that annual reporting has been uploaded. If the project team has missed the first or the second annual reporting, help gather the data to submit the third annual submission. If the project team has not been able to maintain the annual reporting requirements, provide documentation indicating the reason for not being able to submit the annual reporting.
    • Collect new documents to reflect any updates that have been made between initial achievement and renewal. Confirm documents that are still valid.
    • Review all documentation and confirm it is ready to submit via WELL Online
    • Click “Submit” in WELL Online when documentation is ready to undergo review
    • Address any preliminary documentation review comments
    • WELL Certification: help prepare the site for and schedule performance testing
    • Celebrate the project achievement with Marketing and PR! Each project will have access to updated seals and plaques.
    • Plan ahead for the next renewal
