Beginning June 1, 2024, the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) authorizes the qualified third-party certification body approved by the State Administration for Market Regulation of China to implement the WELL certification and reviews for projects located in China Mainland that participate in WELL Certification, WELL Rating, WELL for Residential and WELL at Scale projects. This update is to align the process and corresponding certificates of the WELL Certification and WELL Rating programs with the relevant provisions of the Certification and Accreditation Regulations of the People's Republic of China, the Management Measures for Certification Institutions, and the Management Measures for Certification Certificates and Certification Marks and to promote the acceptance of WELL certification by more stakeholders, expand the application of WELL certification in the China market, and create greater value for end users in the region. 自2024年6月1日起，国际 WELL 建筑研究院(International WELL Building Institution，简称 IWBI)授权：由中国国家市场监督管理总局国家认证认可监督管理委员会批准的，具备 WELL 认证资质的第三方认证机构为中国境内申请 WELL 认证 (WELL Certification)、WELL评价准则(WELL Rating)、WELL健康住宅计划 (WELL for Residential) 以及WELL规模计划 (WELL at Scale)的项目提供认证服务以及颁发证书。
此项措施旨在保证 WELL 认证和 WELL 评价的全部流程及对应的证书符合《中华人民共和国认证认可条例》、《认证机构管理办法》及《认证证书和认证标志管理办法》等相关规定，以推动 WELL 认证被更多利益相关方采信，扩大 WELL 认证在中国市场的应用，为用户创造更大价值。
现阶段，北京中建协认证中心有限公司是中国国家市场监督管理总局国家认证认可监督管理委员会批准的第三方认证机构，并且于2023年3月20日获得国际 WELL 建筑研究院（IWBI）授权，正式承担中国境内的 WELL 项目认证工作。项目方通过认证后，将获得由被授权的认证机构签发并带有认证标识的 WELL 证书，该证书可在国家市场监督管理总局官方网站的全国认证认可信息公共服务平台查询，受《中华人民共和国认证认可条例》保护。同时, IWBI的官方网站也将继续保持对已获得 WELL 认证或 WELL 评价的项目公示。
