WELL makes updates on a periodic basis to program rules and feature language, which are released through addenda.

You can elect to upgrade to a more recent addenda version of WELL for any individual feature part or for the entire scorecard. You can check your current addenda version by going to the Scorecard tab in your WELL account. The current ‘Applicable version’ is noted at the top left:

Upgrading a feature to a more recent addenda version

The process to upgrade a feature part to a new addenda differs depending on how you are engaged with WELL. WELL Certification projects, and Health-Safety Rating projects created before April 18, 2023 should use the "WELL Certification and non-enhanced Health-Safety Rating" tab. WELL at scale, Equity Rating, Performance Rating, and Health-Safety Rating projects created after April 18, 2023 should use the "Enhanced scorecard" instructions".

• WELL at scale, WELL Equity Rating and WELL Performance Rating clients can utilize more recent addenda language for a feature part by following these instructions. WELL Health-Safety Rating projects registered before April 18th, 2023 should scroll down to the next section as the process is different.

  1. Within the Scorecard tab, select the feature part that you would like to upgrade to a more recent addenda version. Click on the 'Verification' tab within the feature, then click on the Edit options button.
  2. Within the pop-up window that opens, click on 'Alternatives.'
  3. Scroll down within the 'Alternatives' options to select Alignment tool, and click Add.

  4. This adds the Alignment tool as an option for this feature part. You’ll see the following box now in the 'Verification' tab for the feature part. Click on 'Assign locations' to select the locations that utilize this upgraded feature part.

  5. Now it's time to upload your verification method that complies with the updated addenda version you are using for this feature part. Upload your document, and ensure that you have noted the specific addenda version of the feature you are using in the document notes.

  Health-Safety Rating projects created before April 18, 2023

  To upgrade individual feature parts of your WELL Certification or WELL Health-Safety Rating project to a more recent addenda version, simply add a note within your uploaded documentation to indicate which addenda version you are pursuing.
