Your WELL Rating must be renewed annually to ensure that your project consistently meets a high standard for health and safety. Upon renewal, you’ll receive an updated WELL Rating seal, helping to provide continual confidence and trust that your space has been recently verified.
You must file an application for renewal through your WELL account and pay the renewal fee no later than one year after the date on which the project was awarded its WELL Rating. Your renewal application extends the validity of your project’s original rating for three months, during which time you must successfully complete the renewal process. However, if the project does not file an application for renewal, the validity of the project's WELL Rating will be 1 year.
At renewal, you must note if there have been any changes relevant to the WELL strategies achieved since your project’s initial rating and provide documentation for any changes that would affect rating status. To be eligible for renewal, you must comply with ongoing reporting requirements.
Have there been changes to the WELL Rating since my project achieved the rating?
WELL Ratings undergo updates on a quarterly basis, typically to provide clarifications and new pathways for achievement of features. At the first renewal event following the initial rating, you may choose to have the project reviewed under the version of the WELL Rating under which it achieved its initial rating or to update to any subsequent version. You must update to the current version of the WELL Rating at every sixth renewal year.

Can I make changes to the WELL Rating features pursued during renewal?
Yes, you can take advantage of streamlined documentation processes if you’re pursuing the same features as those achieved for the original rating award. However, you are welcome to add or remove features during the renewal process to reflect updated organizational goals. Can I add new locations to my WELL Rating achievement during renewal?
Yes, you can expand your portfolio by adding locations during the renewal process. To do so, confirm the number of locations to be added once you start your renewal process through your WELL account.
How much does it cost to renew my WELL Rating?
The WELL Rating renewal fee will be 25% reduced from the initial fee. All discounts (membership/sector/market) will be applicable on the renewal fee. For detailed pricing and applicable discounts, reach out using the Support button within your WELL account.
