To initiate a review cycle in your project account after uploading your documents:
-
How to successfully submit your WELL at scale documentation
Follow the steps below to submit your WELL documentation for review after you have finished uploading your documentation.
Review the WELL Dashboard
Locations tab
Before you submit your documentation:
-
Review and confirm that all the relevant information under
the WELL at scale dashboard Locations tab
is accurate, as it will be listed in your review scoresheet
and report. The Locations tab should not
be edited while a review cycle (rounds one through two) is
in progress. If any information needs to be updated, read
about how to
edit your subscribed locations.
- Your subscription must include at least 5 locations in order to submit for review per the Program Guidebook. If your subscription includes fewer than 5 locations, add additional locations before submitting for review.
- If your organization has a WELL at scale account and a separate Ratings account, the locations included in both accounts must match.
- Review your selections on the Target & Achievements page. Make sure your selections accurately reflect the achievements that you will target in this review cycle and update your targets if necessary.
- Review the information under the Required, Owner, and Additional tabs for accuracy, including the following:
Required
- Project name
- Project area
- Project address
- Is this project public?
Owner
- Confirm that the owner organization is correct
- For Enterprise accounts, be sure that there is a legal entity listed.
Additional
- Estimated number of occupants
- Is your project targeting any milestones? Be sure to check the "Target for this review cycle" box if applicable.
- Is the project undergoing construction or major renovation?
- Does the project contain commercial kitchen and commercial dining?
- Does the project contain outdoor space?
Other administrative actions:
- Sign the WELL Agreement, accessible on the right side of your dashboard. (This must be signed before documents can be uploaded.)
- Confirm which addenda version you have used for your subscribed locations. You can find this information in the Addenda column on the Locations tab.
- You can upgrade your subscribed locations’ addenda version at any time–go to the Support tab then click Version Upgrade.
- For Enterprise accounts, be sure that all relevant legal entities are listed on the Edit tab.
Documents Library
-
Make sure that all documents to be reviewed have been uploaded and assigned to the relevant locations and feature parts in your WELL scorecard. Confirm there are no open Tasks for features that are targeted for achievement in this review cycle (check your “Tasks” in the Document Library to see if there are any documents outstanding).
Ratings Scorecards
-
If you are pursuing Ratings, ensure that documents to pursue any Ratings in the review cycle are uploaded and assigned in the relevant Ratings tab scorecard in the dashboard. Review the Health-Safety Rating alignment tool, Performance Rating alignment tool or Equity Rating alignment tool to see what points can also be earned in the WELL v2/v2 pilot scorecard and upload/assign that same document there, if desired.
Uploading performance testing results
If you are submitting performance testing data from an approved Performance Testing Provider as a part of this review, confirm that:
-
Performance testing data and files have been uploaded and tagged to relevant features and locations.
-
All supplemental documents have been uploaded by the performance testing provider to the relevant features: equipment calibration certificates, field photos of equipment setup, raw performance test data, and a completed Performance Testing Submittal sheet.

-
Click the Submit Review button at the top right of the page.

The project administrator will receive a confirmation email stating that the submission has started and your review is ready to begin.
During the review cycle, the WELL Review team will evaluate the documents that were submitted in this review cycle. See the flow of this process below:
After documentation submission
The WELL Reviewers will respond with comments within 25 business days of the review beginning, and they will indicate whether documentation and/or testing results for each feature are satisfactory. Your WELL team will have an opportunity to amend existing documents or submit additional materials for a second-round review.
Submit for your second round of review or accept results as final
When you are ready to submit for the second round of review, follow these steps:
-
- Open your Reviews tab
-
In the 'In-progress review' section, either click "Accept
Round 1 as Final" if you're happy with your round one
results, or "Initiate Round 2 Review" to submit for the
next round.
The WELL Reviewer will respond with the results of the second-round review by issuing the WELL Report within 25 business days. These two review rounds are included within one complete review cycle. Learn more about organizations subscribed to WELL at scale who have received WELL Scores.
After you have submitted for review, you will be unable to perform the following actions until your review is complete:
- Change location names
- Submit another review (you cannot have two review cycles at the same time)
- Add new documentation (it will not be included in current review)
- Submit performance testing data
- Add or remove properties
Any other location data changes must be requested and coordinated through coaching contact.

Contact us through the “Get Help” button in the support tab of your WELL for residential account when all documents have been uploaded and you are ready to begin your review.
Upon completion of each phase of the review cycle, you will be informed that the review report is available in the “Review Reports” folder, which includes a status for each feature and comments from the WELL Reviewer. During either the preliminary or final review, the WELL Reviewer may issue a Mid-Review Clarification (MRC) if there are details missing from a documentation submission that impact their ability to perform the review overall. The review will be on hold pending clarification and will resume once the additional documentation requested is provided.
Upon completion of the final review phase, you may accept the report as final or submit an appeal for a fee should you wish to challenge feature status or submit new features for review. Upon acceptance of your final review report, you will receive a package of materials to promote and celebrate your achievement.
